The Bocksten Man is described as the most spectacular medieval find from Northern Europe. It is easy to see why: clothing, shoes, equipment and a beautiful curly hair, all preserved in an extraordinary condition. In 1936 the remains of a dead man was found in a bog in Bocksten, Varberg municipality in Sweden. The local police were contacted. They soon realized that the body was not of criminal interest: it was far too old - early 14th century to be precise. We could write paragraphs about the Bocksten man and his garb, but to cut to the chase - this is his cloak! If you can forgive the fact that it's machine stitched and the cloth isn't hand woven, then you can say it's a perfect copy. Wool blend, brown - one size fits all.
I really like this cloak, it’s a nice dense wool and is actually lined which isn’t obvious in the photos. The only issues with it are the front of the neck isn’t shallow enough and the self buttons are not attached in the most secure fashion. If those two things don’t concern oh then I’d say it’s an excellent garment. {Note from Medieval Shoppe - neck size varies from individual to individual, I would guess you have a comparatively wide neck - but thanks for the positive review).
