Brass Medieval Buckle with Four External Knops

• 3.3 x 2.8 cm.
• Bar: 1.7 cm.

Several broadly similar buckles can be seen in Egan and Prichard's 'Medieval Dress Accessories' (1991, pp. 73-4, nos. 292, 299 and 302). This simple style of buckle was used right through the Middle Ages and into the post-medieval period, so it is not possible to give it a precise date.
