Full size 18 gauge steel suit of armour. All the joints are articulated and there is superb attention to detail throughout: it comes with a wooden plinth, an internal frame for free standing and an interior gambeson. The helmet has an internal leather liner and chinstrap, and even the gauntlets are fully functional with inner leather gloves. This is the ultimate item for historic-style interior decor!
This suit of armour is not a costume. A full suit of armour (full harness) is nothing short of a metal exoskeleton, and a suit for wearing should be made-to-measure, which this isn't! Hence, we don't recommend you buy this if your primary need is for a wearable suit of armour.
This suit of armour just looks stunning in our living room! It is very nicely worked with attention to detail, and I love to think how many hours it took the blacksmith(s) to create it. It even came complete with a beautifully forged sword - a great bonus! Assembly and mounting of the armour on the display stand was quite tricky. It required a lot of padding and quite some prodding to make it work, but now the display is quite stable. A description, possibly with some images, of how to put the armour on the display stand would be very useful. Unfortunately, as is already mentioned in the product description, this armour is definitely not suitable for wearing. The gauntlets are wearable and flexible.
All in all, for display purposes this is a great looking, well made piece of late medieval armour that is sure to raise some eyebrows and elicit some 'wow's, depending on who is visiting...But one has to have a hobby, right? Sabine on 29th Sep 2015
